Tech-Connect Forum. In order to make your stay as
pleasant and constructive as possible please take your time to read
through this document, it will help you navigate the pits and traps this
community has created for new members. These rules can be changed without
notice though normally we announce changes via announcement in the
Administration forum.
- Use
the search function located in the Forum before posting. Chances are your
question has already been answered.

Respect the netiquette: Watch and get to know the forum before you post.
- Keep
the focus: Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be
moved, locked or simply be deleted.
- Be
nice to each other and respect the moderator. Profanity and insults will
not be tolerated. If you have a problem with another member turn to the
respective moderator and if the moderator can't help you send a private
message to OGLinks.com.
- Do
not spam. No blatant advertising.
- No -
warez, cracks, serials or illegally obtained copyrighted content! Links to
content of a questionable nature, asking for, offering, or asking for
help/helping to process such content in any way or form is not tolerated.
- Keep
the size of personal images down.
- No
cross posting. Post your message once, to the appropriate forum and
nowhere else or it will be locked or deleted without warning.
- Use
a title that describes the content of your post. Don't use all caps or
special characters to draw attention.
- Do
not send questions pertaining to topics of discussion on this board via
personal messages or email to Moderators or Admins, they will be ignored.

Don't post just to increase your number of posts. If you have nothing to
say on a certain matter then don't post. The number of posts on this board
has no direct relation to the experience of a member.

How NOT to post on this forum: 5 minutes after your initial post you
reply to your own post writing something like "Why is nobody helping me?
I'm sure you know the answer". Once somebody replies to your thread but
doesn't give you exactly the answer you've been expecting you insult them.
- Do
not ask "what's best" because this question cannot be answered
objectively. Each and everyone has their own view about what's best in a
certain area. The best is what works best for you!
- The
official Forum language is English. English is the only allowed language.

Multiple registrations are prohibited and are grounds for immediate
account deletion.

Political discussion not directly related to Oil & Gas Industry issues are
prohibited, as is any discussion on religion and religious matters.

Instructions by the moderator team are to be followed.
- If
you don't comply with these rules you'll have to face a
set of sanctions.
- A
note about attachments: Each attachment has to be validated by a moderator
to ensure no unwanted content is being posted. Therefore your attachments
won't be visible immediately after you upload, but only after a moderator
has checked them which can take some time.
- Last

Sanctions - what awaits you if you don't stick
to the forum rules :

- We
have a very active moderation team and a lot of members who will remind
you of the rules should you not stick to them, be it for not having read
them properly or for simply not caring. As in real life, there must be
some measures put into place for people who keep infringing these rules,
in real life it's the penal code, here it is these sanctions: Each
moderator can report you for violating a forum rule.

- Such
a report contains a timestamp, the forum rule you violated and the post in
question. Such a report will result in you getting a "strike". The report
will point out the number of strikes left until will be suspended (more
about that later) A violation of rules will result in one strike (per
offence) because we feel that violating them does serious harm to this
community. As in baseball "3 strikes and you're out", though in this case
the 3 strikes have to occur within a month's time or they will be
forgotten. A suspension involves the following:
- No
access to user profiles

Modification of the user profile is disabled

Posting is disabled

Downloading attachments is disabled

Private messaging is disabled

After 30 days of suspension your account will be reinstated as we believe
everybody should get a second chance. The strike list will start from zero
again. If a member should continue to violate forum rules and gets
suspended once more his/her account will be terminated without further
notice.

- If
you wish to contest a strike send a Personal Message to OGLinks.com with a
reference to the post in question and an explanation why you think the
strike is not justified. In case of a suspension you can send a complaint
to strikes at
Enquiry Form. The email is only to
be used in case of a suspension and you forfeit your right to an appeal if
you use it to contest a regular strike not leading to a suspension. By
publicly complaining about a strike in any way (starting with pointing out
"I've been striked for this and that"), or go badmouthing this forum
and its members on another board you also forfeit your rights to an appeal
and the strike will be permanent without exception
